I am guessing you don't like Hillsong. Well instead of tearing a fellow Christian group or individual down why not focus your time & efforts on the LOST as you ascertain in other posts on this site. Let God be the judge, we are only calle dto the lost.

should Martin Luther have taken this advice we would never have had the protestant reformation in 1517.

should the apostle Paul have taken this advice he wouldn't have written Galations... or Timothy for that matter

more people should have a little more guts to stand up to pastors/leaders who corrupt the teaching of the Bible for their own gain - they do us no good... anon also assumes that i regard certain groups that call themselves "Christian" actually are Christian... what sort of bullshit is this????? this person obviously has no idea of what it is to be a Christian... Being a Christian is a complete worldview that subverts every vain philosophy that the world puts up to cope with the position of falleness that we find ourselves in... a capitalist puts faith in money (the profit motivation - based on selfishness) to cure the worlds problems... a communist believes in command economies and redistribution of wealth...

more careful consideration is needed of the concept of "in the world but not of the world" ... we live and work in a capitalist democracy... but we are neither capitalist or democrats.

the Western Church has syncretised its beliefs with non-Christian worldviews so seemlessly that it can't now comprehend that God is opposed to those beliefs or is even capable of having his will done without our money...

you are not a mega-overcomer/warrior princess out their taking the world by storm for Christ....... You are white trash, garbage, refuse, worthless decaying dung that has no value whatsoever save for that one thing... The Creator of the universe through his Grace and Divine Fiat has placed value in you and decided that you were worth dying for... why? I honestly don't know but I'm sure glad he did

I choose not to give money to Hillsong. I also choose not to drop money down poker machines or on blackjack or roulette tables. I choose not to smoke, take illegal drugs and drive dangerously.

Is there something wrong with me? Can you suggest how I may be rescued from my bondage of freedom of choice and down-to-earth Aussie cynicism?

David - i feel your pain and anguish... i prayed a similar prayer yrs ago and was left with only 1 iq and that was still too much for me to swallow some of the crap that masquerades as being Christian...

gutlessly responding to my post in a different post, attacking me personally and not just by opinion/beliefs. We can argue/discuss any topic and that is very healthy, but to make a personal attack on the other person just because our opinions/beliefs are different is very poor form. I thought you were better than that.

You have no recogonised mandate from any Christian denomination or group and submit to no one in Biblical authority.

If you are suggesting that you be compared to Luther or any other religious figure from the past then you are indeed decieved.

If profit motive is so wrong, walk away from your business, renounce making a business successful, and walk away from your very lovely home and property.

You won't.

What Hillsong or any other church [given that you attend a church that operates in the same group, as the leader of Hillsong is the president of, then I suggest you take your issues to your pastor and have him deal with them through the internal structures of your denomination], does, is not my business or yours. If people feel cheated they usually vote with their feet.

Heres a thought and i mean this very genuinely, why don't you kick off you own church?? I know quite a few would attend from your area. Its not particularly difficult to start a church. Perhaps you could make a difference in others lives and be force for Christian values and a return to Biblical truths.

how the heck would you know that? I do in fact submit to biblical authority but that does not entail submitting to faulty theological interpretive 'authority' of anyone bar the scriptures.. the priesthood of all believers thingy along with the concept of sola scriptura..

in no fashion do i compare myself to luther... that was not my point (how could anyone infer that i don't know) but it is every Christians mandate to hold to the truth and expose faulty theology/logic/reasoning that would take us down the garden path..

again missing the point. every one is stuck in this system in this country... the mistake is to blend it with Christianity, which we are experts at...

and again what the Church that claims Christ's name does is my business and my duty to expose if it is wrong, as I claim his name as well, even a cursory reading of the epistles will give that mandate...

i am sorry if i personally offended you but sometimes Christians are so concerned about 'offending'that they end up with an emaciated watered down approach.. the gospel is offensive to man and we try to sugar coat every thing .. the fact is we are totally depraved and in need of salvation from Gods judgment of our sin...
